THE PECORINO PROJECT
I first had Chef Amanda Lanza’s food at Bar Bene, the fun bar and bites nights at the oldest Italian society in LA (more on that in a different Lyst!). She made some of the best meatballs I have ever had. Amanda has launched The Pecorino Project, a series of small, thoughtfully designed food retreats in Italy. Sicily, her first trip, sold out quickly, but Sardegna has spots. Each retreat blends hands-on cooking with deep cultural immersion, from early-morning cheese making to conversations with historians and local producers. It’s travel for the curious and hungry. Amanda is the real deal, someone who creates a beautiful, intimate experience while making a perfect pasta pomodoro!
WOMEN
Annie Leibovitz is hitting the road this fall with a series of live events tied to the upcoming release of WOMEN, her powerful new two-volume collection. The book brings together her original 1999 portraits with recent work, featuring essays by Gloria Steinem and the late Susan Sontag. At each event, including stops in Brooklyn, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London, Leibovitz will share the stories behind her images and speak to how the idea of womanhood has evolved through her lens. It’s a rare chance to hear directly from one of the most influential photographers of our time.
